Rough Last 2 Weeks

I caught some kind of upper respiratory infection a few weeks ago. Since then I have had a persistent cough that has culminated in severe back pain. I had to go back on medical leave and the past few days I have spent mostly in bed. I have medication that relieves the pain. Deb and my parents have been with me this week, helping me during the day.

We are not certain what path of treatment is next for me. I have a clinical trial consultation on Nov 3rd at Karmanos. We have also investigated targeted radiation therapy at U of M and will be meeting their doctors on Nov 4th.

Today is Halloween... Landon's costume is a Transformer (robots in disguise) while Morgan is dressing up as a ballerina.

Nate and Deb,
My computer has finally allowed me to view your blogs! YEAHHHHHH.
I have posted it in my favorites so I won't have trouble finding it again. I am handy with eamil but not with blogging.
Anyway, we are all praying for you and the family. I am glad to know that Marge is with you this weekend with her pleasant smile and helpful nature. I am hoping to come visit sometime with her when I have a free weekend and she is planning a visit.
We love you and pray God will allow the cancer treatments to work quickly.
Much love,
Aunt Rosemary

Nate (& Deb),
I'm sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well these last weeks, and I hope you recover quickly. I also pray that your meetings yesterday and today provided you with some direction for next steps.

I heard that, like us, you weren't able to make it to the 90th birthday party...It makes me glad that you came down to visit this summer and we all got to spend some time together. You and your family are always in our thoughts and prayers.
Love,
Rebecca (& Gustavo)

Nate & Deb,
The quantity of prayers that are being said and thought for you must be flooding heaven's communications system!! We're lucky God doesn't need our technology or I believe it would be on overload.
I know you continue to feel God's presence and peace even through the pain. God's presence is all that we need in any and every situation. Our sincerest prayers continue for you and the children.

Hi Nate and Deb,

Just wanted to say thanks again for putting together this blog. Just to be able to touch base and know how you are doing is very nice. We pray for you both (as well as Morgan and Landon) every single day with the kids. Hopefully you start feeling good enough to enjoy things a bit more sometime soon.

Thanks for your example of Faith in hard times. It is not hard to see God's grace in your life with the strength He has given you to handle this. I think you know this, but if there is anything you need, just know that there is nobody you know that wouldn't drop anything they are doing to take any pressure off. My cell is always on and you are not that far away :-)

Love,
John & Sally
